Community

Most of our team live in Inner North London and we immerse ourselves in the local community. From volunteering at events, to using local suppliers and even donating 2% of our profits to charitable organisations. We’ve supported a number of good causes over the years, such as building community gardens and organising fundraising activities for local charities, to providing business support for local organisations.

Whilst we help a variety of different social causes we care passionately about three core issues:

  1. Local independent businesses and helping our neighbourhood and its residents thrive.
  2. Helping those with special needs. Three of our team members have relatives who are differently abled, so this is a subject that’s very close to our hearts.
  3. Supporting mental health initiatives both within the workplace and within the wider community.

Our 2020 Support Strategy

  1. We have a long standing relationship with Pedal Power, a cycling club for teenagers and adults with learning disabilities based in Finsbury Park, who we sponsored in 2020.
  2. We continued to support local independent businesses and organisations across the year. This included setting up a local business directory and ‘advice on how to support our community’ resource at the outset of the COVID-19 lockdown (click here to read). We also donated to the #SaveOurCommonGround crowd funding campaign to help keep Common Ground, one of our brilliant local eateries afloat during the crisis. Furthermore, we sent a financial donation to our local food bank, the Holy Trinity Food Bank on Stapleton Hall Road. If you would like to support the food bank, or need support from the food bank, please find more information by clicking here.
  3. In 2020 we decided to donate 2% of our profits to be split equally between two different charities – Elidyr Communities Trust and Maytree (more info on both charities below).

Our 2021 Support Strategy

  1. We will continue our long standing relationship with Pedal Power, a cycling club for teenagers and adults with learning disabilities based in Finsbury Park by sponsoring the club in 2021.
  2. We will continue to support local independent businesses and organisations across the year, including financial donations to our local food bank, the Holy Trinity Food Bank on Stapleton Hall Road. If you would like to support the food bank, or need support from the food bank, please find more information by clicking here.
  3. In 2021 we will once again donate 2% of our profits to be split equally between two different charities – Elidyr Communities Trust and Maytree (more info on both charities below).
  4. In honor of International Women’s Day 2021 we have donated to The Young Women’s Trust. The Young Women’s Trust offers support to women aged 18 to 30 living on low or no pay. They raise young women’s voices, challenge sexist stereotypes, and help rebuild workplaces free from discrimination. To be taken to the charities website and to donate please click here.

Elidyr Communities Trust

Elidyr Communities Trust is a specialist college in Wales for young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities, including autism and Down Syndrome. Joshua Davies, one of the youngest members of the Davies family, attends Elidyr Communities Trust. Since his time at the college he has become the happiest he has ever been, he has lots of great friends and his confidence, life and social skills have improved dramatically. The college provides a safe, supportive space for Josh and his friends and we’d like to help ensure they can keep offering this service for many generations to come.

You can find more out about the college here.

Maytree

Based in Finsbury Park, Maytree provides a unique residential service for people in suicidal crises so they can talk about their suicidal thoughts and behaviour. They offer a free 4 night, 5 day one-off stay to adults over the age of 18 from across the UK. Their aim is to provide a safe, confidential, non-medical environment for their guests. Somewhere their guests can explore their thoughts and feelings, and feel heard with compassion and without judgement.

You can find more out about Maytree here.
